The Washington Commanders have signed running back Rachaad White to a one-year contract, bolstering their backfield after Chris Rodriguez Jr. departed for the Jacksonville Jaguars. White, represented by agent Sunny Shah, will reunite with quarterback Jayden Daniels, his former college teammate at Arizona State.

White, 27, spent the past four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he evolved into a versatile offensive weapon. Despite a reduced role after Bucky Irving's arrival in 2024, White proved valuable as both a pass protector and receiver. His best statistical season came in 2023, when he rushed for 990 yards and six touchdowns while adding 549 receiving yards.

The Buccaneers' 2022 third-round pick started 48 of 67 career games, missing only one regular-season contest due to injury. Over his final two seasons, White maintained a solid 4.3 yards per carry average. His Instagram post following the 2025 season, reading "Uno out" with a prayer emoji, signaled his departure from Tampa Bay.
