The Indianapolis Colts have granted veteran cornerback Kenny Moore II permission to explore a trade, sources told ESPN on Friday. Moore, entering the final year of his deal, texted that the move is “all good, all love.” A pre‑June 1 transaction would free more than $7 million in cap space, easing a roster already heavy on the cornerback payroll and improve roster depth.

Indianapolis owes Moore $10 million in base salary plus per‑game bonuses this season, a figure that complicates trade talks because any acquiring team must absorb it. With Sauce Gardner and Charvarius Ward tied to massive contracts, the Colts already lead the NFL in cornerback salary cap spending for 2026. Moore’s departure would likely thrust second‑year Justin Walley into a larger slot role.

Last season Moore started intermittently, missing three games with an Achilles strain and posting one interception, two forced fumbles, 1.5 sacks and six passes defended. Over nine years in Indy he amassed 649 tackles, 21 picks and a 2021 Pro Bowl nod. Trading him would solidify the Colts’ financial flexibility while reshaping the secondary ahead of the upcoming campaign.
