Free agent defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad has agreed to a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers worth up to $6 million, according to NFL Network. The 28-year-old edge rusher becomes the second Detroit Lions defender to join Tampa Bay during free agency, following linebacker Alex Anzalone's two-year contract.

Muhammad enjoyed a breakout 2025 season with the Lions, recording career highs with 11 sacks, 9 tackles for loss, and 20 quarterback hits in 17 games. He was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 14 after posting three sacks in a 44-30 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football. His 11-sack campaign made him the 11th player in Lions history to reach double digits in a single season.

The Lions originally signed Muhammad to their practice squad in October 2024 before elevating him to the active roster and re-signing him last offseason. The sixth-round pick out of Miami spent his first season with the Saints in 2017, followed by four years with the Colts and one season in Chicago before landing in Detroit.
