Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix declared Saturday he will not hesitate to scramble on his surgically repaired right ankle this season, stating "when I'm moving around, it's a good thing." Nix suffered a fractured right ankle in the AFC Divisional round win over the Buffalo Bills, underwent initial surgery, then a follow-up procedure in April for bone spurs.

The quarterback missed most offseason on-field work but has been medically cleared for training camp. Last season, Nix rushed for 356 yards (third on the team) and five touchdowns (second), while leading the league with 612 pass attempts and taking just 22 sacks. The Denver Broncos posted the NFL's lowest sack rate at 3.75%.

Coach Sean Payton called Nix's mobility "one of his superpowers," noting the analytics impact of avoiding sacks. Nix has participated fully in camp, including scrambles and a touchdown throw to Marvin Mims Jr. on Saturday. He emphasized situational awareness: "If it's a first down, I'll go get the first down... I'm not going to be dumb."

Nix said he feels "great, feel normal, nothing's holding me back." The Broncos open preseason Aug. 14 against the Falcons in Atlanta; Payton hasn't specified Nix's preseason playing time.
