Tim Hardaway Jr. has officially joined the Miami Heat, fulfilling a lifelong desire to play for the team his father, Tim Hardaway Sr., once starred for. The 34-year-old guard was introduced by the Heat, receiving a No. 10 jersey, the same number retired for his father. Hardaway Jr. stated that initial family reservations about his father's number being used were resolved through family discussions, transforming a personal decision into a family one.

Hardaway Jr. arrives in Miami after a strong season with his previous team, where he set career bests with 224 three-pointers made and a nearly 41% three-point percentage. He also demonstrated significant durability, playing in 236 of a possible 246 regular-season games over the last three seasons. His addition is expected to provide much-needed shooting and spacing for the Heat, particularly to benefit stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.

The guard, who grew up in Miami and spent time around the Heat facilities as a child, sees this as a perfect fit. He expressed confidence in his ability to communicate with head coach Erik Spoelstra, who previously worked with his father. Hardaway Jr.'s role will be to create easier scoring opportunities for his new teammates by knocking down shots.
