Patrick Beverley Cleared in Assault Case

A Fort Bend County grand jury has declined to indict former NBA guard Patrick Beverley in a felony assault case, bringing the matter to a close. Beverley, 37, was arrested in November at a home in Rosharon, Texas, following what police described as a "family violence" incident involving his sister.

Beverley's attorneys, Rusty Hardin and Letitia Quinones-Hollins, stated their client would never harm his sister and expressed gratitude for the grand jury's decision. The former player had posted on social media about finding his sister alone with an 18-year-old man, claiming he was "understandably concerned." The attorneys maintained that the incident unfolded differently than reported.

Beverley, who last played for the Milwaukee Bucks in 2024, had a 12-year NBA career with teams including the Houston Rockets and LA Clippers. The grand jury's "no-bill" decision means there was insufficient evidence to proceed to trial. Beverley expressed relief on social media, emphasizing the importance of protecting children and noting the experience had strengthened his family.
