The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) has opened the PLYRS UNTD Performance Center in Los Angeles, a "one-stop shop" for NBA players. The facility aims to provide a centralized location for scrimmaging, training, and recovery, addressing the logistical challenges players faced when preparing for the season in Los Angeles.

The idea for the facility gained momentum during NBA All-Star Weekend, with players like Stephen Curry and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander involved in brainstorming. The $50 million, 42,500-square-foot center, previously a practice facility for the LA Clippers, offers two full-sized courts, a weight room, training facilities, and amenities focused on health and nutrition, including organic meals, biomarker testing, and recovery services.

NBPA president Fred Van Vleet led the investment, with former players like Chris Paul and Andre Iguodala providing feedback. The union has signed a three-year lease, with options to extend or purchase the building. The center has already welcomed numerous players, with plans for future additions like a hyperbaric chamber and podcast studio.
