The NBA has handed down significant suspensions following a bench-clearing brawl during Monday night's game between the Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets. Isaiah Stewart received a seven-game ban, while Miles Bridges and Moussa Diabate were suspended four games each, and Jalen Duren received a two-game suspension for their roles in the altercation.

Stewart's lengthy suspension stems from his history of unsportsmanlike conduct, as the league cited his repeated violations when determining the punishment. The incident erupted midway through the third quarter when Diabate committed a defensive foul on Duren, leading to a confrontation that quickly escalated. Stewart left the bench to engage with Bridges, resulting in punches thrown and a headlock that lasted over 30 seconds before order was restored.

The suspensions will cost the players substantial amounts in lost salary: Stewart will forfeit $724,138, Bridges $689,655, Duren $89,423, and Diabate $62,641. Despite his suspension, Duren will still participate in the NBA All-Star Game as an Eastern Conference reserve. The Pistons and Hornets will begin serving their suspensions Thursday when both teams play their next games.
