The planned academy will serve as a global hub for top high-school-age players from the UAE and beyond, with some activities for local girls. NBA deputy commissioner Mark Tatum noted the partnership has boosted basketball participation by 60% in the UAE since 2022, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's role as a basketball hub.
