Khris Middleton is heading back to the Washington Wizards on a three-year, $17.6 million deal via a sign-and-trade with the Dallas Mavericks. This move is part of a massive six-team blockbuster involving the Pistons, Grizzlies, Clippers, Bucks, Mavericks, and Wizards. Middleton, 34, previously spent parts of the last two seasons in Washington and brings valuable locker room presence and championship experience.

Middleton returns to Washington after a stint with the Mavericks, who acquired him from the Wizards earlier in the season as part of the Anthony Davis trade. His 12-year tenure with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he was a three-time All-Star and a key piece of their 2021 championship team, also ended recently. Last season, Middleton averaged 10.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 63 games.

The Wizards have been active in reshaping their roster, previously acquiring Trae Young and Anthony Davis. This deal adds further veteran depth, joining recent additions like Deandre Ayton. The Wizards will send D'Angelo Russell, a 2029 second-round pick, a 2032 second-round swap, and a 2033 second-round pick to Memphis as part of the complex transaction, with Dallas also contributing a 2033 second-round pick to Washington.
