Luka Doncic's Season Ends Early With Grade 2 Hamstring Strain

Lakers star Luka Doncic will miss the remainder of the regular season with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, the team announced Friday. The injury, sustained during Thursday's 139-96 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, was confirmed via MRI in Dallas. A Grade 2 strain typically requires a monthlong recovery, meaning Doncic will miss the Lakers' final five regular-season games.

While this prevents him from reaching the 65-game threshold for end-of-season awards eligibility, his agent Bill Duffy confirmed plans to apply for an 'Extraordinary Circumstances Challenge' on Doncic's behalf. 'Luka has performed at a historic level,' Duffy stated, emphasizing his client's record-breaking season despite missing games for family and the injury.
