Project B, the new global women’s and men’s basketball league, announced Thursday that former Atlanta Hawks general manager Landry Fields will lead its men’s division. Fields will coordinate recruitment, team operations, and collaborate with chief basketball officer Alana Beard.

Fields’ résumé spans five NBA seasons with the New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors, a scouting role with the San Antonio Spurs in 2016, assistant GM with the Hawks in 2020, and GM from 2022‑25. His front‑office experience positions him to spot and develop emerging talent.

The women’s circuit has already signed a dozen players, including Nneka Ogwumike, antic‑league MVP, rookie Azzi Fudd, and Awa Fam. Project B will feature six teams, 11 players each, touring Europe and Asia. Valencia and Tokyo are confirmed stops, and the men’s schedule will run January‑April.

Fields’ appointment signals Project B’s intent to compete for top prospects and reshape global basketball. His network and scouting acumen may attract players who have traditionally gravitated toward the NBA, giving Project B a credible platform to challenge established pathways.
