The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to sign forward Ziaire Williams to a one-year, $3 million contract, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania. Williams, 24, joins an overhauled frontcourt following the departures of LeBron James and Rui Hachimura.

Last season, the 6-foot-9 forward averaged 10.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 56 games for the Brooklyn Nets. His signing provides Lakers coach JJ Redick with added length and versatility off the bench, filling out the team's 15-man roster after a busy offseason that included re-signing Austin Reaves and adding players like Walker Kessler and Collin Sexton.

Williams, a former lottery pick and high school teammate of Bronny James, spent three seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies before his time with the Nets. The Lakers are reportedly still pursuing free agent forward Jonathan Kuminga, potentially exploring sign-and-trade options or roster adjustments.
