Big3 Basketball League Plans $290M IPO Under TONT Ticker

The Big3 basketball league, co-founded by rapper Ice Cube, will pursue a public offering valued at $290 million later this year. The three-on-three league announced a deal with Graf Global Corp., a publicly traded SPAC, that could place shares on a major exchange by the fourth quarter under the ticker TONT.

Ice Cube emphasized the opportunity for fan investment in the league's success. "You can't participate in the upside of the team besides winning," he told Bloomberg, suggesting the IPO creates a unique ownership model for supporters. Most major sports leagues remain private, though TKO Group has traded publicly since September 2023.

The Big3 enters its ninth season next week in Los Angeles, with the championship game scheduled for August 22 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Going public provides immediate capital and public visibility as the league competes for attention in the crowded sports marketplace.

This marks the latest move in sports business innovation, following the UFC-WWE merger's successful public debut. The IPO represents a significant milestone for alternative basketball leagues seeking mainstream acceptance and financial sustainability through unconventional ownership structures.
