Minnesota Twins infielder Royce Lewis will miss time after suffering a sprained left knee, while right-hander Cody Laweryson joins him on the injured list with a right forearm strain, manager Derek Shelton announced Friday night. The injuries came during the Twins' 10-4 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.

Lewis, batting .222 with two homers and eight RBI, injured his knee during Thursday's win over Detroit. The first overall pick in the 2017 draft has battled injuries throughout his career, including two ACL tears in his right knee in 2021 and 2022. Laweryson, who sports a 4.26 ERA and one save in five appearances, will be sidelined after striking out eight and walking two over 6 1/3 innings.

The Twins will make corresponding roster moves before Saturday's game against Toronto. Both injuries add to Minnesota's growing list of health concerns as they try to maintain their early-season momentum in the American League Central race.
