Twins' Joe Ryan to be Evaluated for Injury

Minnesota Twins pitcher Joe Ryan is returning to Minnesota for evaluation of potential back and glute injuries. The All-Star right-hander was hit hard in a loss to the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday, allowing five runs (four earned) and seven hits in 5⅓ innings. Ryan has now lost his last three starts, bringing his record to 6-8 with an ERA of 3.65.

Manager Derek Shelton expressed concern, noting Ryan's frustration and inability to replicate his delivery. "He's frustrated and not able to replicate his delivery," Shelton stated. "The ability to repeat his delivery, I'm not going to say it's not physical. But we owe it to him and to us to find out what he's feeling and how he's going about it."

The potential loss of Ryan would be a significant setback for the Twins, who are currently competing in the AL wild-card race.
