Detroit Tigers will re‑introduce Tarik Skubal to the starting rotation on Saturday as the team faces the Cleveland Guardians. Manager A.J. Hinch confirmed the move after Skubal’s arthroscopic NanoNeedle scope surgery, which cleared loose bodies from his left elbow.

The ace, 29, had a 3-2 record with a 2.70 ERA before the injury. He completed a rehab start, throwing five shutout innings and striking out the side, noting a strong zone and plenty of strikes.

Skubal’s comeback arrives after a five‑week recovery that sidestepped the usual two‑to‑three month hiatus. His return strengthens Detroit’s pitching core and gives the Tigers a top‑tier starter ahead of the Guardians’ offensive threat.

With Skubal back, the Tigers aim to solidify their rotation early in the season, while the Guardians face a resilient Detroit lineup that has already shown its competitive edge.
