Miami Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara delivered a dominant performance, throwing the first complete game of the MLB season in a 10-0 shutout of the Chicago White Sox. The 93-pitch gem marked Alcantara's second career complete-game shutout with fewer than 100 pitches, known as a "Maddux," and his 13th complete game overall. The 2022 National League Cy Young Award winner extended his scoreless streak to 15 innings, striking out seven while allowing just three singles and hitting one batter.

Liam Hicks led the offensive charge with a home run, two singles, and four RBIs, pushing his Major League-leading total to 12 RBIs. Otto Lopez also homered while Graham Pauley doubled twice as the Marlins offense erupted for 10 runs. Miami struck quickly against White Sox starter Shane Smith, scoring four runs in the first inning. Hicks hit an RBI single, Connor Norby followed with a run-scoring double, and both scored on Owen Caissie's single.

The Marlins extended their lead throughout the game, with Hicks adding a two-run blast in the second inning and Javier Sanoja's two-RBI single in the third. Miami added two more runs late, with Hicks hitting an RBI single in the sixth and Lopez connecting off White Sox reliever Jordan Leasure in the eighth. Smith lasted just three innings, giving up eight runs and seven hits, marking his second rough start of the season.
