NBC Sports has recruited three recently retired MLB stars as analysts for its upcoming baseball coverage. Clayton Kershaw, Anthony Rizzo, and Joey Votto will join the network's pregame shows and wild-card round coverage. The announcement came during Sunday's Super Bowl pregame show, signaling NBC's aggressive push into baseball broadcasting after a decades-long absence.

The network's new broadcast team represents a significant coup for NBC, bringing together three players with a combined 49 seasons of major league experience. Kershaw, a three-time NL Cy Young Award winner, retired after helping the Los Angeles Dodgers win their third World Series title in six seasons. Rizzo, who retired last September, was instrumental in ending the Chicago Cubs' 108-year championship drought in 2016. Votto spent 17 seasons with the Cincinnati Reds and earned NL MVP honors in 2010.

NBC Sports executive producer Sam Flood expressed enthusiasm about the new additions, noting their ability to provide fresh perspective on the game. The network plans to leverage their unique insights beginning with Opening Day coverage. NBC will debut its baseball programming with a March 26 doubleheader featuring the Pittsburgh Pirates against the New York Mets, followed by the defending champion Dodgers hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Quick Fact: Kershaw, Rizzo, and Votto combined for 49 seasons in Major League Baseball.
