The Miami Marlins placed All-Star RHP Max Meyer on the 15-day injured list with a neck strain. Manager Clayton McCullough said Meyer felt a sensation in his neck during his July 7 start in Seattle; the issue returned in the third inning of his Saturday start in Milwaukee. Meyer will be examined by Dr. Robert Watkins IV in Los Angeles this week.

The 27-year-old first-time All-Star is 9-1 with a 2.68 ERA in 20 starts. The Marlins recalled right-hander Zach Brzykcy from Triple-A to take Meyer's roster spot.

All-Star shortstop Otto Lopez missed his second straight game with finger inflammation. McCullough said swelling has decreased and Lopez showed improved range of motion during baseball activity Monday. Lopez is batting .335 with nine home runs and 41 RBIs in 97 games. McCullough does not expect Lopez to be out much longer.
