Dodgers Put Justin Wrobleski on Injured List

Starting pitcher Justin Wrobleski was placed on the injured list Sunday with what the Los Angeles Dodgers are calling forearm inflammation, prompting reliever Kyle Hurt to be called up to take his place on the roster, as reported by ESPN MLB.

Wrobleski, a 26‑year‑old left‑hander, put together a dominant first half, posting a 2.69 ERA in 100⅓ innings to make his first All‑Star team, but his ERA has climbed to 6.92 since, during which he has allowed 11 home runs in 26 innings.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after a 6‑2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers that the team is “not concerned” and that Wrobleski’s IL stint “should be short‑lived,” adding that taking some load off his arm is smart.

With 126⅓ innings, Wrobleski is already approaching his previous career high of 132 set between the major and minor leagues in 2024, and although he doesn’t have a spot in the Dodgers’ playoff rotation if all starters are healthy, he remains an option out of the bullpen; the six‑man rotation currently includes Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tarik Skubal, Blake Snell, Eric Lauer and Roki Sasaki, and three off days over the last 15 days of August have allowed the club to operate without the extra starter.
