Brewers Timeless Ticket Holders Upset Over World Series Seats

Milwaukee Brewers fans who bought a "Timeless Ticket" in 2015 for $1,000 are now trying to redeem them for World Series games, the first time the Brewers have reached the Fall Classic since 1982. The promotion granted holders access to any future game and the right to buy three additional tickets at full retail price, with the offer stating the tickets "may be redeemed for the best available seat locations, subject to ticket availability at the time of redemption."

Redemption has caused complications. Brewers president of business operations Rick Schlesinger said several hundred fans had requested World Series seats and acknowledged that the club "erred in our internal communications on the logistics of fulfilling the requests." While all requesters received seats, some were unhappy with their locations. Schlesinger said the team "did not live up to the spirit of the program."

Milwaukee fan Danny Fochesato, who bought his ticket on his 27th birthday, said sales staff had promised priority access to seats just behind season-ticket holders. When he redeemed in the current cycle, his form offered only 400-level or standing-room options without knowing which game he would attend. He said he later saw better seats available in the public sale. He eventually secured three 400-level seats for Game 2 against the Tampa Bay Rays and one lower-level seat in the right-field corner for Game 1.

To make amends, the Brewers will let any Timeless Ticket holder who applied before the deadline keep their World Series tickets while retaining the Timeless Ticket for a future game. Schlesinger said the team "regret[s] our mistake and look[s] forward to welcoming them to American Family Field for their World Series experience."
