The Atlanta Braves placed left-hander Martín Pérez on the 15-day injured list Monday with a left forearm contusion. Pérez sustained the injury after being struck by a line drive off the bat of Juan Soto during Sunday's 10-9 loss to the New York Mets. Manager Walt Weiss confirmed that X-rays were negative.

Pérez, who holds a 6-6 record and a 3.54 ERA across 18 appearances (14 starts), allowed five runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings before exiting Sunday's contest. In a corresponding move, the Braves designated right-hander Carlos Carrasco for assignment after he surrendered five runs on five hits in just two innings of work. The team recalled right-hander JR Ritchie from Triple-A Gwinnett and promoted Owen Murphy, who made his MLB debut Monday night, taking the loss in a 7-6 extra-inning defeat.

Murphy allowed two runs (one earned) in the 10th inning of his debut. Ritchie, who had previously earned a save Saturday, has a 4.53 ERA in nine games for Atlanta this season. The Mets also made a minor move, acquiring right-hander Matt Seelinger from the Detroit Tigers for cash.
