Vladimir Guerrero Jr. passed his final concussion tests Friday and is expected to return from the seven-day injured list Saturday, manager John Schneider confirmed before Toronto opened a series with the Yankees. The six-time All-Star took swings in the batting cage after doubling in a rehab game for Single-A Dunedin on Thursday. "He felt good... he feels pretty normal," Schneider said.

Guerrero left last Friday's 3-1 win over New York after a collision with rookie shortstop George Lombard Jr. at third base. The play dislodged Guerrero's helmet when he was struck in the head by Lombard's knee and thigh during a slide, though Guerrero scored the tying run before exiting.

Before the injury, Guerrero was batting .263 with seven homers and 46 RBIs, hitting .310 (7-for-29) in his previous seven games.

In other moves, infielder Josh Smith went on the 10-day IL with left hamstring inflammation. Pitcher Spencer Arrighetti was activated from the IL, outfielder Davis Schneider was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo, and reliever Brendan Cellucci was optioned.
