Tatsuya Imai combined with relievers Steven Okert and Alimber Santa to throw a no-hitter in the Houston Astros' 9-0 victory over Texas Rangers on Monday night. It was the first no-hitter in MLB since September 2024, ending a 630-day drought across the league.

Santa, 23, fired two perfect innings and became the first pitcher to finish a no-hitter in his big league debut. "I knew a no hitter was going on, but I was focusing on throwing strikes and competing," Santa said. Houston's Christian Vázquez caught the historic performance.

Imai went six innings, joining the Astros in January after agreeing to a three-year, $54 million contract. This was the 17th no-hitter in Astros history and fourth combined effort. Houston has authored three of the past seven major league no-hitters, with the last coming when Framber Valdez shut down Cleveland on August 1, 2023.
