San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama exited Tuesday's playoff game against the Portland Trail Blazers after a frightening fall left him in concussion protocol. The 7-foot-4 center landed chin-first while driving to the basket in the second quarter, appearing briefly unconscious before sitting under the hoop for several minutes.

Wembanyama, who had just become the youngest unanimous NBA Defensive Player of the Year Monday, had accumulated five points and four rebounds in 12 minutes before leaving. The incident occurred with 8:57 remaining in the second quarter as Jrue Holiday defended. Head athletic trainer Will Sevening escorted Wembanyama to the locker room, and the Spurs ruled him out approximately 15 minutes later.

The injury is a major blow to San Antonio's playoff hopes. Wembanyama averaged a career-high 25.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.1 blocks and a steal during the regular season, becoming the only player to reach 1,500 points, 700 rebounds, 150 blocks and 50 steals. His absence leaves a significant void for a Spurs team already facing an uphill battle in the postseason.
