UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland was escorted out of the Freedom 250 Fan Fest on Sunday evening after a crowd surge created safety concerns near the White House. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on the Ellipse, two hours before the main card began, when fans rushed toward Strickland upon spotting him at the event.

According to the United States Park Police, multiple agencies including the U.S. Marshals Service and Park Police personnel safely evacuated Strickland from the area. Authorities cited concerns for both his personal safety and that of other event attendees. Fan Jaclyn Cruz captured video of the chaotic scene and described feeling overwhelmed by the experience.

Strickland later addressed the situation on Instagram, thanking supporters while acknowledging he might face disorderly conduct charges. However, officials confirmed he was neither cited nor arrested. The champion was transported back to his hotel without incident but was advised not to return to the venue for his own and public safety.

The removal highlights how celebrity status can create unexpected security challenges even at promotional events, especially when high-profile athletes appear unannounced at public gatherings near sensitive locations like the White House.
