No. 1 UConn grinded out a 70-52 victory over No. 6 Notre Dame in Sunday's Elite Eight matchup, securing their 25th Final Four appearance. The Huskies' 54-game win streak and 38-0 record continue their historic season, though this contest proved far closer than their previous 38-point win over the Irish in January.

Star players Azzi Fudd and Sarah Strong were quiet by their standards in the first half, combining for just 10 points. Freshman Blanca Quiñonez stepped up with 12 first-quarter points to keep UConn afloat. Strong then dominated the second half with 21 points, including 15 after the break, while Fudd added 9 of her 13 points after intermission.

Notre Dame's Hannah Hidalgo, who had a triple-double against Vanderbilt, finished with 22 points on 7-18 shooting. This marked the ninth tournament meeting between the programs, but the first with a Final Four berth at stake. UConn will face the winner of South Carolina-TCU in the national semifinals on April 3.
