Tuskegee basketball coach Benjy Taylor is suing Morehouse College and two police officers for over $1 million after being handcuffed during a January game. The incident occurred following a Division II HBCU matchup in Atlanta, where Taylor requested police remove Morehouse football players who allegedly harassed Tuskegee players and staff throughout the contest.

According to the federal lawsuit filed in Georgia, Taylor asked the same officer to intervene when those players ran onto the court during postgame handshakes. Instead of addressing the unauthorized students, Officer Clark handcuffed Taylor in front of thousands of spectators, including Taylor's family members. Taylor was not charged with any crime and was later released.

The lawsuit accuses Morehouse and the officers of willful intent and malicious conduct, claiming Taylor suffered physical damages, emotional distress, and financial losses. His attorney stated Taylor required medical treatment after his blood pressure spiked due to the traumatic arrest, which could damage his professional reputation.
