The Toronto Tempo have acquired forward Aneesah Morrow from the Connecticut Sun, sending the rights to Maria "Masha" Kliundikova and a 2028 second-round pick to Connecticut. Morrow, a 6-foot-1 forward, was a key target for the expansion Tempo, seeking a young big. She averaged 11.6 points and 8.9 rebounds for the Sun last season, recording nine double-doubles in 20 games.

"We're thrilled to welcome Aneesah to our organization," said Tempo GM Monica Wright Rogers. "She's a relentless competitor who impacts the game in so many ways, particularly with her ability to rebound at a high level. We believe she's one of the emerging frontcourt talents in this league."

Connecticut Sun president Jen Rizzotti expressed gratitude for Morrow's contributions, stating, "We are incredibly grateful for the time Aneesah spent with the Connecticut Sun and for the professionalism, commitment, and buy-in she showed." Morrow is under contract through 2027, with a team option for 2028.

Kliundikova, a 6-4 forward, previously played for the Minnesota Lynx and Los Angeles Sparks. It remains uncertain if she will play in the WNBA next season. This trade marks the first move ahead of the league's midseason trade deadline.
