The head coach was one of two missing from the 32-person lineup, alongside Los Angeles Rams' Sean McVay. According to ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi, Monken left a coaches meeting early to receive a fresh cut, believing the photo was scheduled for noon.

The meeting adjourned prematurely, and Monken encountered Jaguars coach Liam Cohen en route, who informed him the photo had already been taken. Monken, hired in January on a five-year deal worth $15 million annually, replaced fired Kevin Stefanski and is tasked with rebuilding the Browns' offense after a disappointing 2025 season where they missed the playoffs.
