Serena Williams returns to the singles draw at Wimbledon for the first time in nearly four years. The 44-year-old seven-time champion accepted a wild card to face Maya Joint, a 20-year-old Australian ranked No. 53. Williams has not played a singles match since her 2022 US Open loss to Ajla Tomljanovic.

Serena also teams up with sister Venus, who recently turned 46, for the doubles event. Both sisters enter as wild cards to face Camila Osorio and Solana Sierra. Together, they have won 14 Grand Slam titles, including six at the All England Club. Their first two Wimbledon doubles wins came as wild cards in 2000 and 2002.

Other draw highlights include defending champion Jannik Sinner facing Miomir Kecmanovic. Sinner and seventh-seed Novak Djokovic occupy the same half of the bracket, setting up a potential semifinal clash. Meanwhile, two-time champion Carlos Alcaraz will miss the tournament entirely due to a wrist injury, altering the men's path to the title.

If Williams advances past Joint, she faces 29th-seeded Alexandra Eala in the second round. A third-round match against Iga Swiatek remains a possibility. The tournament officially begins Monday with Sinner leading the charge on Centre Court.
