Providence College is set to name Bryan Hodgson as its next men's basketball coach, sources confirmed to ESPN. The 38-year-old Hodgson has already signed a deal with the Friars after leading South Florida to a 25-9 record and its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2012. The American Conference champion Bulls fell to Louisville in the first round.

This marks Hodgson's third head coaching position in three seasons, following two years at Arkansas State. He takes over a Providence program that struggled under Kim English, who was fired earlier this month after consecutive losing seasons. The move represents a significant investment in young coaching talent for the Big East program.

The hiring comes as college basketball coaching carousel continues to spin rapidly. Hodgson's success at South Florida, particularly guiding the Bulls to the NCAA tournament, made him an attractive candidate for Providence. His ability to quickly rebuild programs could be crucial as the Friars look to return to prominence in the competitive Big East Conference.
