Oklahoma men's basketball coach Porter Moser will return for the 2026-27 season, athletic director Roger Denny announced Saturday. Moser's return comes with significant investments in the program, including increased NIL money for players. Denny, who was hired in January, made it clear that Oklahoma's resources must match the program's expectations.

The Sooners have struggled with one of the least intimidating home-court environments in the SEC. Denny's statement emphasized that financial support for players needs to improve, from NIL compensation to staffing. He acknowledged the program hasn't adequately supported Moser's efforts, saying, "We haven't held up our end of that bargain."

Moser, in his fifth season at Oklahoma with a 93-74 record, led Loyola-Chicago to the 2018 Final Four. The Sooners reached the NCAA tournament last year and are on the bubble this season after finishing 19-15. With Oklahoma's NCAA tournament fate uncertain, Denny also called for stronger fan support to create a true home-court advantage.
