Five-star point guard Reese Alston committed to LSU on Thursday, giving Tigers coach Will Wade his third top-25 recruit in the 2027 class. Alston chose LSU over Louisville, Kentucky, Tennessee and Wichita State, citing the program's environment and culture during his visit. The son of NBA veteran Rafer Alston -- nicknamed "Skip to My Lou" -- is ranked No. 13 in the SC Next 100 and the No. 4 point guard in the country.

He won the Guy V. Lewis Award last season and led Second Baptist School (Texas) to consecutive TAPPS 5A state championships, averaging 22.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.7 steals. Alston will join a backcourt with five-star recruit King Gibson and Ahmad Hudson, forming a top-25 class.

Wade, returning to his previous roster construction methods, now has five five-star recruits and 12 SC Next 100 prospects since his return to Baton Rouge. The internet makes Coach Wade out to be somebody he's not. He has kept his word and showed up to all the games that he said he would.

He's made me a priority.
