Kyle Busch will miss Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway after being hospitalized with a severe illness. The 41-year-old NASCAR driver was also scheduled to compete in the Truck Series race at the same track. The Busch family confirmed he is receiving treatment and will not participate in any weekend activities.

Richard Childress Racing announced Austin Hill will substitute for Busch in the No. 8 Chevrolet for the Cup race. RCR emphasized Busch's health as their top priority while thanking Hill for stepping in on short notice. The team stated their full support for Busch and his family during this difficult time.

Busch currently sits 24th in the Cup Series standings with two top-10 finishes in 12 races this season. The two-time champion (2015, 2019) is in his fourth year with RCR after previously winning titles with Joe Gibbs Racing. His most recent victory came in 2023, his first with RCR. This absence creates a significant gap in the team's lineup during one of NASCAR's premier events.
