Richard Childress Racing announced Austin Hill will substitute for Busch in the No. 8 Chevrolet for the Cup race. Busch currently sits 24th in the Cup Series standings with two top-10 finishes in 12 races this season. The two-time champion (2015, 2019) is in his fourth year with RCR after previously winning titles with Joe Gibbs Racing. His most recent victory came in 2023, his first with RCR. This absence creates a significant gap in the team's lineup during one of NASCAR's premier events.
