Kansas State coach Jerome Tang unleashed a scathing critique of his players after an embarrassing 91-62 home loss to Cincinnati, declaring they "don't deserve" to wear the purple. The Wildcats suffered their fifth consecutive defeat, dropping to 1-10 in the Big 12 conference play. Tang's brief but intense postgame press conference lasted just over two minutes as he openly questioned his team's pride and commitment.

The rout saw Cincinnati shoot 57% from the field while K-State fell behind 30-11 in the opening eight minutes and trailed 53-31 at halftime. Kansas State (10-14) now sits dead last in the Big 12 standings, with the margin of defeat peaking at 32 points. Tang expressed embarrassment for the university, fans, and student section, suggesting roster changes will follow.

Students showed their contempt by wearing paper bags over their heads during the lackluster performance. When informed of this, Tang responded, "I'd wear a paper bag, too, if I was them," before storming out of the news conference. The Wildcats' next challenge comes Saturday when they travel to face No. 3 Houston in what could be another difficult matchup for the struggling program.
