Sabrina Ionescu will debut for the New York Liberty this Sunday against the Dallas Wings after a May 4 ankle injury. She told reporters she feels ready and eager to rejoin the lineup.

The guard endured an MRI that ruled out a major injury, confirming only structural damage that healed quickly. She used an underwater treadmill to keep conditioning while sidelined.

Ionescu missed the Liberty’s first five games, during which the team went 3‑2 under coach Chris DeMarco. Last season she averaged 18.2 points, 5.7 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in 38 contests.

Her return could shift the Liberty’s offensive balance and improve their standings in a tight Western Conference race. The team will see a significant boost with her back on the floor.
