Gus Malzahn and Jeff Tedford are the latest additions to the College Football Playoff selection committee, bringing significant coaching experience to the group. Malzahn, the 2010 Auburn OC who won a national title, retired this year after a 35-year career highlighted by a 105-62 record as a head coach, including a national championship and multiple conference titles. Tedford, the former Cal coach known for his turnaround at Berkeley, finishes his career with a 127-79 record, including an 82-57 mark at Cal where he engineered a remarkable rise from one-win seasons to conference titles.

Their appointments, alongside returning chair Hunter Yurachek and Louisiana AD Bryan Maggard, aim to infuse the committee with fresh perspectives as it enters its 13th season. The group now features four former coaches, a mix that CFP executive director Rich Clark says ensures a seamless transition and diverse viewpoints on selecting the playoff field.
