Five-star wing Jaxon Richardson has committed to Alabama, choosing the Crimson Tide over finalists Creighton, Ole Miss, and USC. The 6-foot-6 prospect from Southeastern Prep Academy told ESPN he felt comfortable with Alabama's up-tempo style and the relationship built through recruiting his brother, Orlando Magic guard Jase Richardson.

Richardson, the son of former NBA player Jason Richardson, praised Alabama coach Nate Oats for his analytical approach and personal connection to the family. "They have been there since my freshman year," Richardson said, noting Oats and assistant Preston Murphy checked on him when he was hospitalized with the flu. His recent visit to Tuscaloosa for a football game impressed him with the energetic atmosphere.

Ranked No. 17 in the SC Next 100 and a McDonald's All-American, Richardson averaged 13.0 points and 6.9 rebounds on the Nike EYBL circuit. His explosive athleticism and defensive versatility should fit Alabama's switching scheme immediately. The commitment gives Alabama its third top-35 prospect in the 2026 class, joining Qayden Samuels and Tarris Bouie.
