Two former colleagues from the New York Jets organization are set to compete in Arizona's 1st Congressional District election. Amish Shah, an emergency physician, won the Democratic primary on Wednesday. He will face former Jets kicker Jay Feely, who secured the Republican primary on Tuesday.

The general election will take place in November. Shah and Feely have a prior connection from their time with the Jets. During Feely's two seasons with the team (2008-09), Shah served as the on-field airway management physician, responsible for resuscitating players with catastrophic injuries.

Feely, who also played for the Arizona Cardinals, expressed a desire to run a clean campaign regardless of his opponent. "It's an old relationship," Feely stated. "But whoever it is, I want to do this the right way."
