Five-star wide receiver Eric McFarland committed to Texas A&M on Sunday, turning down offers from Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. The 5‑foot‑8, 180‑pound junior from IMG Academy ranks No. 3 among ESPN’s 2027 wide receivers and No. 17 overall in the class. His decision came after official visits to each finalist and a live ceremony with CBS Sports, and secured his place among the Aggies' elite recruiting haul.

McFarland becomes the sixth five‑star pledge in what could be a record‑setting 2027 class. He joins tackles Kennedy Brown and Mark Matthews and defenders Raylaun Henry, Zyron Forstall and Kamarui Dorsey, all already signed. If all six enroll, Texas A&M would eclipse Alabama’s 2014 and the Aggies’ 2022 squads, each of which featured five five‑star players.

Coach Mike Elko, who guided the Aggies to their first College Football Playoff appearance, has delivered back‑to‑back top‑10 classes since 2023. McFarland’s sophomore season produced 29 catches for 595 yards and 11 touchdowns, underscoring his playmaking upside. His arrival solidifies the Aggies’ receiving corps for 2027. He joins fellow top‑300 wideouts Jaden Upshaw and Damani Warren, giving Texas A&M depth across the field.
