Corey Heim, 24, captured his first Brickyard 400 victory Sunday at Indianapolis, holding off Christopher Bell by 0.287 seconds and Joey Logano by 0.972 seconds. The part-time NASCAR Cup Series driver became the first to win twice in his first 15 career starts since A.J. Foyt in 1965.

Heim made a decisive outside pass on co-owner Denny Hamlin on the final restart with 35 laps remaining, then survived a late charge from Bell and Logano. Hamlin, frustrated by Bell's mistimed push, fell to fifth, extending his winless streak at Indianapolis to 18 races.

Kyle Larson's winless drought reached 36 races after a tire failure sent him into the wall. Meanwhile, Todd Gilliland claimed the $1 million In-Season Challenge prize, while Ryan Blaney missed the payday after a late crash. The series now heads to Iowa on Aug. 9.
