Top-10 senior Bruce Branch III has committed to BYU, marking the Cougars' third consecutive recruiting class with a five-star recruit. The 6-foot-7 wing made his announcement on ESPN's NBA Today, choosing BYU over USC after reclassifying from the 2027 class into the senior class in November.

Branch, who ranks No. 6 in the SC Next 100, cited BYU's family atmosphere, academic strength, and basketball focus as key factors in his decision. Coach Kevin Young has built BYU's program around big wings, starting with Egor Demin in 2024-25 and continuing with AJ Dybantsa this season. Branch averaged 15.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game on the Adidas 3SSB circuit, shooting 39% from 3-point range.

Young has laid out a development plan for Branch, comparing his potential to successful players like Devin Booker. With his 7-1 wingspan and offensive versatility, Branch can score from anywhere on the floor and shows excellent defensive upside. He joins Abdullah Ahmed and KJ Perry in BYU's 2026 recruiting class, continuing the Cougars' rise as a basketball powerhouse under Young's leadership.
