Bill Self Hospitalized; Vaughn Coaches KU vs Colorado

Bill Self will miss Kansas' game against Colorado after being hospitalized Monday for feeling 'under the weather.' The Hall of Fame coach received IV fluids at LMH Health and is recovering, but won't travel to Boulder. Jacque Vaughn will serve as acting head coach for the Big 12 matchup.

This marks another health concern for Self, who has faced multiple scares in recent years, including a 2023 hospitalization for chest tightness and a procedure in July. The 63-year-old has led Kansas to two national titles and 14 straight Big 12 regular-season crowns since 2003.

Kansas (13-5, 3-2 Big 12) has struggled with consistency, partly due to star guard Darryn Peterson's hamstring issues. Peterson, a projected top NBA pick, has missed nine games but returned for five straight starts, including an upset of then-No. 2 Iowa State. Vaughn, a former Kansas star, brings NBA head-coaching experience from Brooklyn and Orlando.
