Akron football is offering a unique promotion where one season-ticket holder will have the opportunity to script the opening drive of the Zips' home opener against Robert Morris on September 12. All current season-ticket holders are automatically entered into a random drawing, with additional entries for referring new season-ticket holders. A winner will be selected on August 19.

Head coach Joe Moorhead will collaborate directly with the winner to design the plays. Moorhead, who previously served as Akron's playcaller and has extensive experience as an offensive coordinator at various programs including Penn State and Oregon, expressed excitement about the unprecedented fan collaboration. He highlighted the opportunity for fans to gain a behind-the-scenes look at offensive strategy.

This promotion aims to deepen fan engagement and provide a "seat at the table" for a loyal supporter. The winner's input will contribute to the Zips' efforts to start their home season strong, aiming to improve upon last year's opening drive performance which resulted in a punt.
