The Florida Panthers have significantly bolstered their forward corps by acquiring captain Brady Tkachuk from the Ottawa Senators in a blockbuster deal. This trade allows Tkachuk to join his brother, Matthew, in Florida, forming a potent offensive duo. In a separate transaction involving the Panthers, the Seattle Kraken acquired forward Mackie Samoskevich in exchange for the No. 25 pick in the upcoming NHL draft, which will now head to Florida.

The Seattle Kraken also secured a long-term commitment from forward Bobby McMann, who will stay with the franchise after agreeing to a six-year contract. Meanwhile, the Edmonton Oilers addressed their center depth by re-signing Jason Dickinson to a five-year contract valued at $20 million. This deal prevents Dickinson, known for his defensive capabilities, from exploring the free-agent market.
