Trade Deadline & Controversies

Analysts dissected the avalanche of last‑week trades, concluding that the Colorado solidified its roster while many Eastern clubs overreacted to marginal moves. Colorado’s star center Nathan Mac Kinnon received a game misconduct for alleged goalie interference in a 4‑3 loss to Edmonton, a decision the Avalanche denounced as excessive that could reshape playoff positioning. In Boston, defenseman Charlie McAvoy netted a 39‑second overtime winner to lift the Bruins to a 2‑1 victory over Los Angeles, extending their home streak to 13 games; the hero rushed to the dentist after the game to address lost teeth.
