Dodgers and Ohtani

Shohei Ohtani has had a "great conversation" with manager Dave Roberts, and the two-way star is expected to be in the lineup for Game 3 of the NLCS. Los Angeles will still weigh his lingering injuries before making a final call on his status.

ALCS

The Guardians took Game 1 on the road, beating the Rays 7-3 behind big contributions from DeLauter and Ramírez, while the bullpen held Tampa Bay to one run over the final eight innings. Cleveland will now turn to Parker Messick, a Tampa Bay area native, to start Game. Fans can follow the action in our live updates and lineup breakdown.

NLCS and Brewers

Milwaukee proved it can beat anyone, including the Dodgers, as the Brewers came into the rematch confident their approach would make the difference.

Postseason Trends

Hitters have been more successful with robot umpire challenges in the playoffs than in the regular season, and teams are using the ABS system more often. Meanwhile, the four remaining clubs differ widely in how they were built, from superstar signings to under-the-radar finds.

Front Office

The Mariners have received permission to interview Astros bench coach Espada for their managerial vacancy.
