Warwickshire secured their ninth County Championship title by defeating Leicestershire by an innings and 79 runs at Edgbaston. The victory came on day three of the Rothesay County Championship Division One match, with Warwickshire finishing on 22 points and Leicestershire on 3. Ethan Bamber took the final wicket to finish with match figures of 9-94, including 5-52 in the second innings, and was well supported by Chris Woakes, who claimed 3-38.

Tom Hain scored 142 and Tom Barnard made 88 in Warwickshire's first innings of 372. Leicestershire were bowled out for 125 and then 168, with Sol Budinger top-scoring with 47 and Tom Scriven making 49. The win marks Warwickshire's first title since 2021 and their fourth in the 21st century, achieved through five wins in six matches during the final run-in, three by an innings.

Leicestershire, despite off-field struggles, resisted into an eighth session but could not prevent the Bears' triumph.
